We have a very brief excerpt from here intended to get the referent of Heidegger’s discussion of the ‘misreading’ of Kant in Nietzsche.

Let’s poke around at the highlighted portions. Note:

  • Nietzsche’s critique of Kant as a mere ‘spectator’
  • Nietzsche’s claim that interest is entirely the point of art
  • Schopenhauer’s version of this: disinterest is ‘sexual’ disinterest (kinda weird)
  • And then, I don’t know, whatever’s going on at the bottom of p. 75
